About the event
Burlesque Movie Night is a cozy monthly gathering for performers, students, and burlesque lovers to come together, learn about the art form, and spend time in community.
Join us on the last Sunday of every month at Cell Block #9, Rachel Riot’s home studio near NC State, where we screen a burlesque-related film, documentary, or performance feature while we relax, snack, and soak up some sparkly history.
March’s featured film is Behind the BurlyQ, an acclaimed documentary exploring the Golden Age of American burlesque. Through interviews, archival footage, and stories from legendary performers, the film reveals the rich history, cultural impact, and rebellious spirit of the burlesque stage.
This event is free and meant to be a casual community hang. Popcorn will be provided, but feel free to bring your own beverage, booze, or smoke. Dress comfy — we’ll be snuggling in with blankets and popcorn while we learn more…
