Join us for a free community movie night at Cell Block #9 as we screen Play Me Burlesque, a vibrant documentary celebrating the performers, personalities, and creative spirit of New York City's burlesque scene. Through a mix of backstage moments and dazzling stage performances, Play Me Burlesque offers an intimate look at the artists, technicians, and dreamers who bring this unique art form to life. The film explores the creativity, resilience, and community that keep burlesque thriving while paying tribute to its roots in Coney Island, the birthplace of modern burlesque. Whether you're a longtime performer, a burlesque fan, or simply curious about the art form, this documentary is a fun and inspiring glimpse into the world of glitter, glamour, and self-expression. Movie Night is held at Cell Block #9, Rachel Riot's home studio near NC State off Western Boulevard. The exact address will be provided after registration. Space is limited and advance registration is required. To cancel or reschedule please contact us at least 24 hours before the first class. Minimums & Maximums: Each class has a required minimum and maximum number of students. Minimums are set to ensure instructors are fairly compensated. If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, it may be canceled and all registered students will be notified. No-Shows: Students who do not attend class (no-shows) forfeit their payment. Payments are not refunded or credited. Refunds: We do not provide refunds for any reason. Transfers: Transfers may be offered only with a valid doctor’s note. Without proper documentation, transfers are not permitted. Final Note: Please treat your registration as a commitment to yourself, your classmates, and your instructors. No refunds, no exceptions.
