Service Description
Saturday, September 19, 2026 2:00–3:30 PM | $35 Cell Block #9 | Raleigh, NC Instructor: Champagne Holiday | Nashville, TN Complimentary champagne included! What happens when live vocals meet the art of the tease? Visiting Nashville performer Champagne Holiday brings her rock-and-roll background and burlesque experience together for Bubbles, Ballads & Burlesque, a 90-minute workshop all about creating and performing a successful sing-and-strip act. Singing while stripping presents a completely different set of challenges than performing to a prerecorded track. You have to think about your vocals, your microphone, your costume, your movement, your timing, and your connection with the audience—all at the same time. Champagne will break down how to bring those pieces together without sacrificing either the song or the strip. Students will learn the practical side of working with microphones, including mic technique, different types of microphones and stands, and even ways to incorporate a mic stand as a prop. Champagne will also cover choosing the right song, deciding how the music functions within your act, communicating with the venue's sound person, preparing tracks, and using tools like Moises to help with your music. From there, we'll get into the performance itself: how to rehearse until a song truly lives in your body, how to balance singing with costume removals, and why sing-and-strip costuming often needs a different approach than a traditional burlesque act. The workshop will include hands-on practice so you can begin putting these skills to work. And because you can't have Bubbles, Ballads & Burlesque without the bubbles, complimentary champagne will be provided for students to enjoy during class. Location: This workshop will be held at Cell Block #9, a private residential studio in Raleigh, NC. The exact address will be provided upon registration.
