Meet the newest graduates of the Raleigh School of Burlesque!

After four weeks of learning, creating, rehearsing, and discovering their own unique performance styles, the graduates of Raleigh Burlesque’s signature Shimmy Seminar are taking the stage to debut the brand-new solo acts they created during the program.

Established in 2011, Shimmy Seminar is Raleigh’s longest-running comprehensive beginner burlesque training program. Students spend four intensive weeks exploring foundational burlesque movement, character and stage presence, act development, costuming, music, choreography, and the creative process of turning an idea into a fully realized solo performance.

Now it’s time for the best part: their first curtain call.
